The roots of Hyb go back to 1972, when Iskra from Šentjernej built a thick-film hybrid circuit manufacturing plant.
Commencement of hybrid manufacture for Iskra’s internal market.
We develop hybrid circuits for installation into analogue public telephone networks and exchange systems. After the construction of the international Olympic telephone exchange in Moscow, the Soviet Union becomes our largest market.
Commencement of SMD component use for surface installation, which substitutes classical, i.e. “through hole”, installation. We manufacture the first multi-layer hybrid circuits and begin using bonding and hermetic encapsulation technologies.
Hybrid electronic curcit for telephone exchange Mataconta 10C.
A new R&D cycle was initiated in the early 80’ties that built upon tight collaboration with several international partners. The result was launch in two new markets: blood pressure sensors for medicine and industrial pressure sensors and switches.
In collaboration with a German partner, we develop a blood pressure sensor, manufactured using a thick-film hybrid technology. The product ranks among the best such sensors in the world.
We develop the first encased pressure sensor, with a voltage output to measure the relative, absolute, and differential pressures in the range from 10 mbar to 7.5 bar, which takes us into the acquisition of new industrial pressure, temperature, and force sensor markets for a wide variety of uses.

90’ties started with the demise of Yugoslavia and consequently the loss of national market. Iskra, a holding that the company was part of, has fallen apart but few new, smaller and independent companies emerged out of it. The new company, Iskra HIPOT, has no other option but to start working on a demanding western European market.
The establishment of a new company, ISKRA HIPOT, which is later renamed HIPOT HYB.
We develop a second-generation blood pressure measurement sensor, which provides protection for connectors and housings against water leakage and a sensor without a cable connection. Despite the fact that at the time, sensors are manufactured by the company for a large multinational covering 6% of the global market with them, we take an independent path and develop our first own brand sensor, wishing to sell it under our own trademark. Due to a lack of knowledge of the medical devices market, the sales of this sensor do not take off.
We develop an in-line fuse, which is used to protect an increasingly electronic part of the interior of new variants of telephone exchanges from external influences. We manufacture it until 2006, when digitalisation causes the decline of hybrid technology in telecommunications.
Investicije v razvoj novih tehnologij in izdelkov, modernizacijo opreme in prostorov ter standardizacijo sistema vodenja kakovosti družbi omogočijo stabilizacijo poslovanja in pot v prihodnost.
We redesign the company’s image and register the trademarks hybymed®and hybysens®.
The company is taken over by its current owner—Novoline, d.o.o.
We expand the quality management system with the ISO 13485 standard. By establishing this quality management system, we prove to our customers that we adequately manage the manufacture of medical devices and that these are safe and appropriate.
We move the company to a newly-constructed manufacturing hall, which enables the production of products in clean, dust-free premises. We start implementing standards and establish an ISO 9001-compliant quality management system.
The idea is revived to develop and market the blood pressure measurement and supervision systems under our own trademark. Two new projects are initiated: our own invasive blood pressure transducer, i.e. IBPM and system for wireless transfer of invasive blood pressure data from sensors to monitor, i.e. wireless IBPM. Additionally, a new joint project with Jožef Stefan Institute in started with the main objective to develop an pressure sensor for industrial applications based on cost effective LTCC technology.
We implement an ISO 14001-compliant environmental management system.
We acquire the agreement of the Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices of the Republic of Slovenia to be registered as a medical device manufacturer in classes I, IIA, IIb, and III. In doing so, we expand activity and acquire the authorisation to market registered medical devices which are the result of our own innovation and knowledge. We are still waiting for the final development of products and the acquisition of CE markings, which will enable us to market in the European Union market.
We acquire a CE marking for hybymed® Wireless system and complete the development of our own sensor. Due to the demand of the market for supplementation to the programme, we start to develop blood pressure monitoring sensor sets, devices, and a closed blood sampling system.
We acquire a CE marking for hybymed® IBPM blood pressure monitoring sensor sets.
We complete the two-year project of the implementation of our own production of blood pressure monitoring sensor sets, the manufacture of which we fully transfer from a subcontractor into our own premises. We complete the development and industrialise an ultra-low pressure sensor (1 mbar) with a unique method of measurement, which places us on the global map of ultra-low pressure specialists.
We acquire a CE marking for hybymed® IBPM PLUS sensor sets, which also include a closed blood sampling system.
We complete the development of the LTCC sensor, which we place in the regular sales programme as HPSD-7000.
In collaboration with an English partner, we expand medical device development and production to invasive surgery. We develop an innovative electric motor device for laparoscopic surgery
We will upgrade and expand our standard offer of industrial sensors with a miniature sensor operating in the pressure range from 1 mbar to 7 bar. We will add on to the product by developing a platform to be used in Internet of Things applications.
